Fethi Mecifi

Dr. Fethi Mecifi has a broad knowledge of biological sciences starting from his formation as an agronomy scientist including microbiology, biochemistry, entomology, animal biology, physiology and reproduction, plant biology, physiology and propagation, livestock science, geology and morphology, topography, soil science, hydrology, agricultural machinery, food science and technology, environmental ecology, forestry, wood science, identification and technology, pulp and paper technology and structural design and engineering, business administration. Dr Fethi Mecifi has strong research skills like experimental design and statistical analysis of results. He acquired his PhD from the University of Washington from the college of Forest Resources in Seattle. After finishing college he was drafted in the Algerian military and received training for second lieutenant. There he supervised reforestation operations including a large scale tree nursery in the desert of North Africa. After an honorable discharge from the military he taught plant biology and forestry at the Institute of Biology in Tlemcen Algeria. Dr. Fethi Mecifi left Algeria for Seattle, USA just when the civil war started. He worked temporarily as a computer operator at the University of Washington. There he operated mainframe computers including Unisys and IBMs. Dr Fethi Mecifi started his own business as a wood products consultant. Having a minor in art, he also embarked in a career as an artist. He is fluent in English, French and Algerian dialect and has some knowledge of classical Arabic and Spanish. Fethi Mecifi is a dual citizen of Algeria and the United States of America. He has a secular mentality and embraces freedoms, hard work and respect for law and order.
