Figure Forms is a family-owned and managed business specializing in the development and manufacture of high quality dress forms/tailors dummies and fit mannequins for garment design, fitting and quality assurance. Figure Forms is also involved in size surveys and analyses, and have been a part of a number of national surveys as well as gathering and conducting our own specialized and focused studies. The company was founded in 1987 by husband and wife team, David and Alleyne Millam. David, a Mechanical Engineer, and owner of an industrial moulding company, and Alleyne, a Clothing Designer/Patternmaker with more than 20 years in the industry, recognized the need for more accurate and standardized garment fitting forms. More recently, the management team has expanded to include their sons. Ross Millam - a Materials Engineer - managing the technical and research & development aspects of the factory, and Rory Millam - a B.Sc Hons graduate in Anatomy and Physiology - handling the technical consulting, sales, marketing and operations. Initially all our forms developed were focused on the South African market, but in the last 15 years we have done extensive work for some of the world's largest fashion retailers in Europe, Asia, and Australasia. Our fit forms are developed and produced to exact measurement specifications of our retailer clients, but we also cater extensively to the small and medium retailers and fashion houses. We have long-standing relationships with SA's top design and fashion universities and academies, but also pride ourselves in our capabilities to serve the private and home-based customers.
