Filip Willemse

I am a self-directed and driven scientist in the pharmaceutical industry for more than 15 years. Currently, I work as a formulation scientist in cross-functional teams at Janssen (Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson), building unique products. My expertise includes formulation and process development of fluid bed and pan coating technology, of which I'm deeply passionate about: non-functional (cosmetic) and functional coatings; layering amorphous solid dispersions and crystalline nano- and microsuspensions on multiparticulates; investigating the manipulation of the right release profiles by combination of (co)polymers; targeting colon-specific proteins, peptides, and oligonucleotides. Formulation and process development comes with results, data, numbers. Data science and modeling approaches intrigue me a lot. They not only help me understand the science, but also guide me in an efficient scale-up and tech transfer to one of our commercial sites or partnering CMOs. If you happen to catch me outside of work, I'm a family man. I just love to be around my family, together with music, movies, books, and our two doxies.
