Fiona Malena

FIONA MALENA – FLAMENCO DANCER An International performing artist based in Berlin, Germany, Fiona Malena tours frequently with her ensemble and as a guest artist worldwide; including to countries such as Israel, Ecuador, Canada, Spain, the United States, Mexico and the United Kingdom. She has collaborated on stage with many elite Flamenco artists such as Ramón Martínez, El Torombo, Juan Ogalla and Pedro Sierra. Noted performances include the Peña de Londres (London, England) and the Alcázar palaces of Jerez de la Frontera and Seville, Spain. She received her training and formation during her many years living in Southern Spain under the mentorship of Farruquito, Concha Vargas and Isabel Bayón, among others. Fiona began choreographing new works for the stage in 2001 and most recently toured her latest in a line of visually rich productions for the stage, "Arbolé" (Western Canada) with dancer Karen Lugo. Other noted past performances include sold out shows in Seville during the period of time when she lived in Spain from 2008-2014 (Peña Niño de la Alfalfa) and featured performances at various International Flamenco and Music Festivals, where she has opened for esteemed dancers such as Rubén Olmo and Manuel Liñan. A highlight of Fiona's career was her experience and tour to Turkey, where she shot a film project, created the production "La Cueva" as well as collaborated with an International fusion music ensemble "Kaknus" in 2014. As a dance model, Fiona was featured in a global video publicity campaign "Awaken the Spirit of Seville" for the luxury cosmetic company Molton Brown. Currently Fiona is involved in a dance/creation research project in Wadi Rum, Jordan and occasionally tours with the Sevilla based ensemble "Oscar Guzmán."
