Flavio Santos

My professional and academic background are driven by a will to help others and simplify processes. Since my first job as an insurance operator (with MAPFRE), I have tackled complex situations, providing the best possible outcome to the involved parties. Afterwards, as Administrative Assistant of the State, I monitored field operations, helping reduce costs through improved office supply management in one of CODASP's branches, having also worked in A/P at their headquarters. A brief experience as a Host at an international restaurant franchise (Jamie Oliver's) allowed me to significantly hone my interpersonal skills - evolving since college as a volunteer engaged in public events promoted by the University (UNICAMP). My last work experience in Brazil was at a Federal educational institution. At the IFSP's HR I have collaborated in assuring our employees were provided with relevant information regarding rights and duties, maintaining our database updated. I also assisted a branch unit with acquisitions, public biddings and contract management. I hold a Bachelor's and a Licentiate Degree in Geography. As an academic, I was founding member and associate for LECLIG, a research laboratory focused on the mutual intricacies between natural systems and human settlement and activities. My Master's Degree concentrated on episodes of extreme heat and the different understandings that local governments, the media and the townsfolk have of such events. I was also a founding member of the Institute's first junior enterprise (TERRÆ Jr), and graduated with honors in 2007 — certified by the Regional Council of Engineering, Architecture and Agronomy of Sao Paulo (CREA/SP). Living in Canada since 2019, I hold an Associate Degree in Environmental Studies from DOUGLAS COLLEGE, having received an International Education Award of Distinction and a Step Up Project Award (granted by the R. Howard Webster Foundation). I currently am working with ACCORD FINANCIAL, alongside the Funding team, helping Canada business get back on track post(?)-Covid. Given this framework of my experiences, it has been imperative being able to multitask, making efficient use of different database systems, office applications, social media monitoring, dealing with highly sensible and classified information, through many forms of contact, while respecting deadlines. Therefore, I believe I am trustworthy and a highly adaptable professional.
