Whether it was the blender, pots and pans, or cassettes spinning in Florence’s childhood home, any rhythm set her body in motion, sparking joy and a lifelong desire to create spaces conducive to self-expression and celebration through movement. A first generation Senegalese Brit born in Mexico, raised in San Francisco, Florence went on to study dance with ODC Dance Commons, Rhythm & Motion Dance, City College of San Francisco Dance Program— and was a company member with well renowned Artistic Director’s + Choreographer’s Allan Frias and Ronnie Reddick. Through these institutions Florence trained in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Afro-Latin and Hip-Hop. Florence has performed and taught across the US as well as internationally in China, Mexico and Europe. Over time, Florence found that due to the every-day external demands of life, we are unconsciously manifesting experiences in our bodies, causing mental and physical health challenges. Although we do not always have the time, access, and ability to take care of ourselves, it is necessary to stay healthy and aligned to our purpose. This became the catapult to Florence’s IntutivFlo practice.
