Frank Joneit (M. A.) wurde am 13. Juni 1965 in Bochum geboren. Er studierte Politikwissenschaften, Englisch und Geschichte an der Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Von September 1990 bis Juli 1991 arbeitete er an Bildungsinstitutionen in Sunderland (Nordostengland). Seit 1996 ist er im Referat Regionalentwicklung beim Regionalverband Ruhr (RVR) tätig. Der Schwerpunkt seiner Arbeit liegt in den Themenfeldern Öffentlicher Verkehr, regionale Mobilitätsentwicklung, Mobilitätsmanagement, Radschnellwege und verkehrsträgerübergreifende Fragestellungen. Frank Joneit arbeitet auch an der Umsetzung von Wettbewerbsverfahren in interdisziplinären Teams mit und war 2000/2001 als Dozent an der Fachhochschule Bochum im Themenfeld ÖPNV tätig. Darüber hinaus vertritt er den RVR in verschiedenen Interreg Nord-West Europa Projekten: Von 2010 bis 2014 war er am Projekt CODE24 zur Entwicklung des Rhein-Alpen Eisenbahnkorridors Rotterdam / Antwerpen - Genua beteiligt. Seit 2015 arbeitet er beim Projekt CHIPS mit. Ziel des Projekts ist die Entwicklung und Förderung von Radschnellwegen als effektive und kosteneffiziente Lösung für den Alltagsradverkehr. Frank Joneit (M. A.) was born in Bochum, Germany, on June 13th, 1965.He studied political sciences, English and history at Ruhr-Universität Bochum. From September 1990 to July 1991 he worked at Farringdon Comprehensive School and Southmoor School in Sunderland (Wearside). Since 1996 he works at the Ruhr Regional Associations (Regionalverband Ruhr/RVR) department for regional development. The focus of his work lies on the development of regional transportation and mobility. That includes expertise on local and regional public transportation development, cycle highways and multimodality. The management and implementation of communication processes with politics and public institutions as well as local authorities are also a part of his professional activities. Frank Joneit also works on the implementation of competitive procedures in interdisciplinary teams. He had also been lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in Bochum for the topic of public transport in the early years 2000. He represented RVR in Interreg North-West Europe projects: From 2010 to 2014 he was part of the CODE24 project for the development of the Rhine-Alpine railway corridor Rotterdam/Antwerpen – Genova. From 2015 to 2019 he was with CHIPS. The target of the project ws to develop and promote cycle highways as an effective and cost efficient low carbon solution for commuting.
