Note: NOT currently looking for work // I am a long-time employee of BNY Mellon (formerly PNC GIS, formerly PFPC, formerly FirstData, formerly FPS Services). I have and continue to lead development of a large number of highly complex, advanced and mission-critical applications (generally web-based) in the financial services field using a wide variety of technologies. Much of my time nowadays is spent mentoring other developers, setting technical direction for projects and the larger organization, managing off-shore resources, helping define overall development priorities and resource allocations and directing UX activities... but of course there's still a good amount of actual coding mixed in there too! I am the author of eight books for Apress on a variety of development topics as well as numerous articles for various publications. I am the developer of a number of applications for various mobile platforms, a few of which were nominated for awards. I have developed and validated a large number of certifications for PreVisor (BrainBench) on a range of technical topics. I am a frequent contributor to a number of open-source projects, leader of a few and have founded a few too. I am a writer of fiction (none published...yet!). I am a musician (keyboards) and was part of a fairly successful progressive rock band in New York. I am an occasional speaker at technical conferences and meetup groups.
