Frederick Smith

Fred Smith is a hands-on financial and operations executive with over thirty years of experience. Currently he is CFO of Virtual Software Systems Inc., a Burlington, MA startup in the cyber security space. Previously he has managed finance, contracts, HR and operations at other privately-held early-stage tech companies including Permessa Corporation, Envoy Systems, Attain Corporation, and Atreve Software. Fred shares his skills and experience with new or growing organizations in the for-profit and nonprofit sectors through his company Clearview Financial Services. His formative management experiences included cash flow, budgets, financial analysis, and operations, in industries as varied as retail, banking, utility, and not-for-profit.
