I am a senior tax manager and business advisor with BDO Canada LLP's Vancouver office, assisting my domestic and international clients with: • Sales and indirect tax compliance, research, transaction structuring, and planning • International inbound tax advisory for foreign SaaS and eCommerce businesses doing selling in Canada • Consulting, indirect tax recovery projects, and operational reviews for not-for-profits and charities • Tax compliance and advisory in real estate, construction, and property development sectors • Government relief programs, subsidies, and incentives in response to COVID-19 I am a designated CPA with over 6 years of experience in Canadian, international, and indirect tax, and have separately completed CPA Canada's In-Depth Tax Course for income tax. I am currently enrolled in CPA Canada's GST/HST In-Depth Tax Course as well, projected to finish by the end of 2022. An alumnus of the Sauder School of Business at UBC, I graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting (Honours) and a Minor in Political Science. When not committing to memory everything I can about the intricacies of my big blue bible (the Excise Tax Act), you can find me: • Planning my next big post-pandemic vacation (targeting Iceland, Hong Kong, and Japan in 2023); • Trying out new restaurants and updating my .xlsx restaurant tracker; • Diving down the rabbit hole of homemade Japanese ramen and perfecting my shoyu tare; • Flying fish in from Japan and tweaking my rice vinegar recipe for omakase sushi dinner parties; • Developing unconventional and borderline unpalatable flavours for my small batch ice cream store; • Breaking my neck lubing switches while building another unnecessary mechanical keyboard; • Fumbling with clay at the pottery studio and trying to throw that perfect ramen bowl; • Building calluses while bouldering (and probably staying at 1- or 2- hex routes); • Trying to avoid getting headshot at dodgeball; and • Getting people together to try the newest board game in my collection.
