Gabe Rosales

I am a doctoral student in the Criminology, Law and Society Department at UC Irvine. I am a professional musician, human rights activist, community organizer, secular minister and I work with a long list of human rights organizations. I have toured internationally with high profile music acts and performed in arenas and on television to audiences of millions. I have also worked extensively with a wide array of artists as a session musician and ESP Guitars exclusive artist. I have been teaching music for 21 years privately and locally out of 2 different guitar retail establishments. I am a featured instructor on the online music school "Dangerous Guitar," and I am a songwriting facilitator for Jail Guitar Doors at Richard Donovan State Prison in San Diego, California. I have created my own humanitarian music organization/band comprised of the top socially conscious musicians entitled VNON Activist Musician Movement. We have raised tens of thousands of dollars for various children's charities and human rights causes with the help of the community and our endorsers. I have served time in our correctional institutes, and seen the plight of addicts and the poor in our justice system. I have maintained 14 years of complete sobriety while starting an online Secular Sobriety community. I am SMART Recovery certified and am working towards a California Association of Alcohol and Drug Educators certification. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the highest ranked Criminology program in the nation at the University of California, Irvine where I helped pioneer two on campus organizations, Underground Scholars, and Undergraduate Chapter of Students for Sensible Drug Policy. I am an active member of the Students for Sensible Drug Policy Alumni Association. I have two literary publications through Inner Child Press and am looking forward to many more.
