Gagan is a Managing Director and the Risk & Regulatory Leader for Alvarez & Marsal in India.A Chartered Accountant with an Honours degree in commerce from the University of Delhi, Gagan’s career spans 20 years of Forensic engagements in over 30 countries. His experience includes a significant number of expert appointments on forensic accounting, commercial disputes and litigation matters.Considered as one of the prominent Forensic professionals, Gagan has conducted some of the largest and most high profile investigative engagements many of which have been covered extensively in the press. These include issues such as financial statement fraud, embezzlement and asset misappropriation, bribery and corruption, diversion of funds, economic offences, trade sanctions, regulatory non-compliance, code of conduct violations, ethical violations, etc. His extensive testimony experience involves matters in arbitration (both in Indian and international arbitrations) and litigation (India, United Kingdom, United States, Asia and the Middle East). Issues that he has worked on include joint venture disputes, family disputes, interests of minority shareholder, fraud, management disputes, significantly high value contractual claims, quantum and damage computations, contractual disputes (various kinds), valuations, intellectual property related matters, forensic analysis of business models, etc.As a trusted advisor, especially in cases of crisis, Gagan works closely with clients and their legal advisors to provide support and strategic advice on a real time basis. Gagan has been involved in number of pro-bono initiatives on expert analysis on matters of public interest. These have included constitutional matters as well as evaluating commercial aspects of proposed legislation and/or changes to public policy.
