About
I’m intrigued about how New Zealanders come together to congregate, communicate and recreate. I'm always fascinated about the future of community and how our recreation and urban planning can create a future our communities can engage in, whilst recognising that we are absolutely nothing without caring for our environment. Most importantly I want people to have an understanding of the context and language that enables them collectively to articulate that future. Exploring probable, possible and preferred futures. And if you aren't - well, you're going backwards. Me? A highly motivated and experienced community futures planning professional, I have the skills and drive to lead successful projects and inspire teams along the way. With more than 25 years in long-term project management through community development and recreation initiatives, I have advanced relationship-building and management skills, strategic vision and leadership acumen. I’m up-front and honest with the confidence and ability to advise and manage teams effectively while encouraging a positive working culture. I have strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across New Zealand, and globally. As a member of the Association of Professional Futurists I am ‘completely besotted’ by what the future holds and our human obligation to help shape it. For a full list of projects I’ve worked on see below. “He is absolutely wonderful at pulling people together, encouraging individuals and finding the best in others. He has an infectious enthusiasm.” – from Mark Mitchell Award citation for Outstanding Personal Contribution to the Wider Recreation Industry.
