I specialise in helping pub, bar, restaurant and hotel groups to grow and improve their profitability. Nowadays I do this less by spending my own money in these establishments and more by providing a professional and informed accounting and tax advisory service. I like to catch up with my clients regularly, often on an informal basis, to chat and discuss progress - this enables us to identify opportunities or threats between us on a timely basis. Roles and achievements include: - acting as quasi-FD for a group of sports bars helping them improve their management reporting and systems; - acting as audit partner for pubs, restaurants and hotel groups - providing an informed, sector-experienced, value added audit service - focussing recommendations on key sector issues facing these operations; - assisting a late night bar/restaurant group to raise funds for expansion, by preparing detailed forecasts and drawing up a robust and professional business plan; - assisting a restaurant group with its complete accounting and compliance requirements bringing all up to date in order to provide timely and current management information to properly analyse the performance of the growing business; - contributing articles in the hospitality trade press (see below)
