I’m a highly motivated, ambitious and experienced technical manager with over 20 years experience in Financial Services IT. While managing cross platform Engineering teams I have experience in product ownership and development using agile methodology. Innovation, creating and delivering roadmaps and prioritising delivery based on defined customer value were key facets of the role along with engaging with stakeholders throughout the organisation to deliver their requirements of our product set across on premise and cloud platforms As a manager of teams responsible for Infrastructure Security I have a demonstrable record of delivery in areas including Compliance, Audit, Risk Management, Vulnerability Management, IAM/PAM & SecOps. This was gained by leading technical resources across large domains and multiple sites to consistently deliver to challenging timescales. Having worked in IT Project Management I have a proven ability to plan and run projects, possessing excellent organisation, communication and stakeholder management skills. I have experience in both waterfall and agile methodologies. Leading both infrastructure and project teams I’ve successfully planned and delivered change across a range of technologies and platforms, including Cloud, concurrently for multiple customers. I have a strong record of creating, managing and continually improving the processes required to deliver success. I keep process light and agile to facilitate service/project need, in complex environments, with rapidly changing business priorities. This includes managing tight pools of resource delivering across portfolios. I have a breadth of technical experience, including (not limited to) IAAS/PAAS/SAAS, Infrastructure as Code (Azure), Virtualisation (Citrix), Wintel, AD, AAD, Automation, Coding (PowerShell, JSON, Perl, PHP, HTML, CSS, Python etc.), Puppet, Hiera, Chocolatey, Packer, InSpec. Throughout my years in the industry my aptitude, drive and ability to pick up new skills quickly has been consistently acknowledged as delivering performance ‘exceeding expectation’ or ‘outstanding’ in both technical and leadership roles. Outside of work, I'm a retired part-time footballer. Post retirement I volunteered for 2 years at my final club as their development coach before moving into a First Team coach role in the Scottish Lowland League where I attained my UEFA C License. I have since returned to my previous club as First Team Manager. I also enjoy spending time with family and snowboarding.
