Gary Oelofse

Gary has over 28 years’ experience in successfully delivering major projects in various sectors including Transport, Mining, compressed and cryogenic gases, Defence, Healthcare, Commercial and Residential sectors throughout Australia and Southern Africa. While working in the resources market, Gary was responsible for the design of electrical and communications infrastructure for the iron ore mining industry. Gary brings his extensive experience from diverse and well-rounded range of roles including lead discipline engineer, consultant electrical engineer and installer, team leader, national technical services manager, technical officer, managing director, design and project management. He is a highly ethical, engaging and grounded person, a highly sought-after mentor and leader with a solid reputation for establishing and implementing practice wide standardisation and adoption of systems and processes. He is passionate in sharing his global knowledge and experience with colleagues and clients, cultivating long term relationships and generating projects with mutual benefits. Gary continually strives to meet often the most demanding of deadlines for the satisfaction of the client and the overall excellence of the project with a quality-focus and results-oriented mindset and approach. Gary served on International Major Hazard Review committees for the formulation of company and industry global standards and represented the gas industry on various technical committees including the South African LP Gas Association, SAQCC (LPGI), The South African Compressed Gas Association, and various South African Bureau of Standards working committees and the Engineering Council of South Africa. Gary has demonstrated his skills in managing large high pressure, high exposure projects, dealing with both internal and external clients and understanding, delivering and exceeding their expectations.
