Recognized, as Glendale City Councilmember , for being instrumental in negotiating the Coyote’s staying in Glendale (2013), the Desert Diamond West Valley Casino and Resort (Tohono O'odham Nation) coming to fruition (2014) and leading the charge to keep the cities increased sales tax intact resulting in a much improved financial picture and bond ratings. I immersed myself in the transportation sector becoming an advocate for the light rail project in Glendale by serving on both the bus (vice-chair) and rail boards of Valley Metro, additionally one of two Arizonans to serve on the National League of Cities Transportation Steering Committee. While at Honeywell Aerospace, I lead a team that corrected a serious problem on the McDonnell Douglas MD-11 aircraft, reducing a 24 month certification program down to 9 months and became the first supplier to be awarded the Douglas President’s Quality Award.
