Gaurav Mahajan

A Post Graduate in Business Management, Gaurav is a seasoned professional with 13 years of overall experience spanning public policy, regulations, market entry and business development. During the last decade, he has led a variety of policy consulting and strategic advisory mandates which include policy formulation/mitigation, policy communications, investment promotion and crisis management. Gaurav understands the sensitivities around which the government functions and has supported clients engagements across various government departments (DPIIT, MeitY, Min of Consumer Affairs, MoRTH, Min of Finance, MoH&FW, NITI Aayog, Invest India, PMO etc.). On specific policy mandates, he has got stakeholders from centre and states to talk to each other and hence he understands the centre-state policy dynamics as well. Gaurav has worked extensively with industry associations and co-authored white papers which were shared with strategic stakeholders in the government and led to policy intervention. During his stint at APCO, he has closely networked/coordinated with various administrative ministries of the Government of India, State Governments, Think-Tanks and Industry Associations besides leading investment promotion mandates including advising a couple of Fortune 500 companies to set up their manufacturing plants in India. Gaurav has led teams to deliver on public policy and thought leadership mandates. Moreover, he has directly engaged with senior government officials and had fabulous wins in terms of 'policy formulation' which has changed the way companies are now working in the industry over the last few years; as well as in terms of 'policy mitigation' to push back on regressive policy measures through stakeholder ecosystem engagement. To sum up, Gaurav is trained to independently drive stakeholder engagement and project implementation on the range of policy/regulatory affairs to socialize data-driven and fact based policy suggestions with the strategic stakeholders across centre and states.
