Gautam Adhikari

Gautam Adhikari is a Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress in Washington DC. He has been Executive Editor of The Times of India, and Editorial Page Editor, Washington Bureau Chief, Editorial Adviser and Dean of the Times School of Journalism. He served in the World Bank in Washington DC as a Senior Consultant. In 2005, Adhikari was the founding Editor of DNA (Daily News &a; Analysis), Mumbai. He has been Resident Fellow and Adjunct Lecturer in Public Policy at the Shorenstein Center for Press/Politics at Harvard University (1987-89), and AT&a;T Scholar (1994) and J.B. &a; Maurice C. Shapiro Fellow (1997-98) at George Washington University. He was Senior Resident Fellow at the International Forum for Democratic Studies of the National Endowment for Democracy and Project Director of the World Movement for Democracy and the Asian Center for Democratic Governance (1998-2003). In 2003-04, he was a Visiting Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington DC. In 2010-11, he was FICCI-EWC Visiting Fellow at the East West Center in Washington.
