She previously served for 12 years in the United States Senate, serving as a communications officer and spokesperson for former Assistant Republic Leader Don Nickles of Oklahoma and Judd Gregg of New Hampshire, working with national broadcast and print media on a daily basis. She served as communications director for two influential Senate committees - the Senate Budget Committee and the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions.
