I am a Global Studies and Anthropology student looking for a victim advocacy internship. In the past, I have worked with people who have been subjected to sexual violence. While it was rewarding work, I felt that in order to best help the diverse array of people seeking victim services, I first needed to learn more about how culture, customs, and societal expectations impact the way people address and process their traumas. That is why I went back to college with the express purpose of attaining a degree that would ready me for this career path.Along with my previous experience as a victim advocate, my time as a global studies and anthropology student has given me the tools to excel in any internship geared toward helping people who have experienced sexual violence, regardless of age, race, gender, orientation, cultural background or socioeconomic status.
