I'm a 30-year veteran of the engineering and construction business. I was given the opportunity to work for Burns & McDonnell in our Kansas City headquarters after graduating with a BSME from South Dakota State University. I quickly grew into the project management realm and expanded my client repertoire to include aviation, industrial, and commercial clients. My love of family and my great home state of MN drew me home in '98. I worked in the Minneapolis A/E market for several years before realizing that I was desperately missing the Burns & Mac way of serving clients. In 2007, I helped to open the Minneapolis-St Paul office for BMcD. Our upper Midwest Office Group (Bloomington-Duluth-Sioux Falls-Bismarck) is in a significant growth mode. Our successes have fueled the addition of over 200 professionals. I've been active with ACEC/MN since 1999, and have also spent 6 years on Minnesota Chapter's Board of Directors. My time with ACEC has included outreach activities to industry groups to address improved business practices as well as significant advocacy efforts related to industry-related legislative activities in St Paul and Washington DC.I serve on the SDSU Jerome J Lohr College of Engineering Dean's Advisory Council. This Council provides industry input, business advice and strategy development to the College and the office of the Dean.Additionally, I am a member of the University of St. Thomas' School of Engineering External Advisory Board (EAB).I'm also active and a Board of Trustees Member to the Works Museum, a hand's-on experiential STEM-focused organization providing education and workshops to K-8 students.
