I have successfully lead and tollgated a pre-feasibility and feasibility study for major underground coal mining projects with capital values in excess of A$1bn. These studies involve the development and articulation of the business case for the investment, defining the scope of the project to deliver to the business case and assembling the study deliverables for independent review. To support the board investment papers for these projects I have managed the development of capital and operating cost estimates; documented risk profiles and implemented actions to reduce project risks and supervised the investment evaluation process. I have managed projects in a major project Hub environment and prepared a study to transition into an active project in the field. Where capital costs are unfavorable I’ve developed plans to reduce costs and identify future project options that add value to the project. Prior to working for a large mining house I worked for Contract Miners in Australia, Indonesia and India in an estimating and business development role. I developed contract mining estimates and contracting proposals for clients and provided contracting expertise to clients to assist them in developing their projects.
