If you look at the picture in my header above, you’ll see a serene vista of a sunny fall afternoon with calm waters. And the hint of a bite in the air that gives most of us the peace of mind that its good to be alive and exited to see the fruits of the path we are on. Unfortunately, as it is in life, we have so many irons in the fire and so adept at multi-tasking the priorities in our lives that we don’t see the threats to that peace of mind. Nor consider how those threats can impact the path we, and of those we care about, are on. In the picture, we are complacent with the serenity we superficially see, and we gloss over what is underneath the water, what is the weather bringing, and how will the night affect this picture-perfect vista. What if it looks different tomorrow? What is going on in that ship? Unfortunately, I experienced this misplaced peace of mind when my father passed away and my mother did not have a good understanding of how their assets would be treated. The devil was in the details, and unfortunately, she did not have a good grasp of the details and felt the sting from the clarity of hindsight. I have a lot of experience paying attention to detail and resisting the tendency to be complacent having served a significant chunk of my adult life as a Marine. Although the tunnel vision analogy above can apply to many aspects of one’s life; I made it my profession to identify & mitigate risk, leverage available resources, create new resources, and map out a plan to ensure my clients’ peace of mind is not misplaced when it comes to their, and their family’s, financial future. I’ve been helping individuals, families, and business owners achieve that peace of mind, set them on their way to what they envision, since 2014.
