About
Junior doctor with an interest in acute care settings of medicine, particularly Anaesthesia, Intensive Care and Toxicology. My experience so far has covered geriatrics and stroke medicine, neonates, intensive care, paediatrics, orthopaedics, general medicine and surgery, cardiology and acute and emergency medicine. In my spare time I have in two years edited two magazines (North Wing and Medic Mentor) for a combined circulation of over one thousand readers per annum. On top of this, I have written more than forty articles for magazines and journals such as The Guardian, Litro, Res Medica and The British Journal of Psychiatry spanning topics including healthcare, politics, philosophy, history, LGBT rights and book reviews. My 10k word essay 'What Do You Do When It All Goes Wrong' was shortlisted by Ascona for their Student Balint award and then published in their 2017 anthology. Since beginning writing in 2015, I have had thirty short stories published both online and in print with local and international publications such as The Crazy Oik, Bunbury Review and Storgy. These have varied in length from 50 to 6500 words. I have also co-written a comedy revue which raised £3000 for charity over three nights.
