I have 30 years of experience as a civil engineer in construction management and engineering consultancy, with additional tertiary education in sustainability and renewable energy. This experience has provided me the unique ability to combine both practical and technical knowledge simultaneously to solve problems. More recently these abilities have been used in innovative start-up companies, where technical matters are weaved into financial and marketing issues. My problem solving skills have been combined with communication and management ability to bring internal teams and industry network partners together to provide optimal solutions. My broad range of experience and abilities has been obtained by seeking out and applying learnt skills and knowledge on a variety of engineering projects within various business models. Project experience includes solar, infrastructure, roads, bridges, rail, ports, transportation, land development, commercial buildings (high rise and low rise), in both Australia and the UK. The project types and value ranges have included; Construct only, ECI, Design & Construct, Joint Venture, varying from low $Millions to $500+Million. The more notable projects I have worked on are: Sydney Port Botany T3 Container terminal, Harris Park Rail Link, M2 Motorway, Roberts Rd Chullora overpass, A34 extension (UK), Stoke City Centre Redevelopment (Transportation assessment), Building the Education Revolution (BER), 360 George St (Commercial High rise), Darling Park Stage 1 (Commercial High rise), and the Mater Hospital. Innovation commercialisation experience includes Stabilor; a chemical additive to cement stabilisation for pavements, SunShift, a redeployable modular solar system, and supplying Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) sheetpiles and telegraph poles to the infrastructure market. These have all required taking the product idea through design stages (conceptual, feasibility, preliminary and detailed) to progress the product in the market place.
