Engineer in Hungarian ("mérnök") means someone who measures. Origin of this word in the languages of rest of Europe is the Latin "ingeniare" (to contrive, devise) and "ingenium" (inborn qualities, talent). That is what motivates me much in my profession: being in contact with the physical world, and constructing new things by using ingenuity. I got in friendship with programming by my father's Primo64, a PC with Z80 compatible processor, capacitive touch button keyboard (! :-) from the early '80s. For me the sequence started with its Basic language, then Pascal, C, and the others... Today I know that the language is a tool, the product is what we express, and the skill is how we does it. I am enthuasistic in any aspect of embedded engineering, let it be system design, circuit design, FPGA, DSP or microcontroller. Being a lifelong learner my goal is to be more and more open-minded. My way of thinking is rather analytic, so areas like signal processing, control engineering, physics, biomedical engineering are close to me. I am keen on getting things done, optimizing work flows, processes, for that I get liked scripting, mind mapping, creating tools for facilitating everyday work.
