Giancarlo Gaggero

Dr. Gaggero has more than 30 years of R&D management experience. While employed as Principal Scientific Officer with the Commission of the European Communities, (EEC), he served as director of the European Computer Program Institute (1975-1980) and head of the Joint Research Center Informatics Support Section (1976-1980). Dr. Gaggero was also the founder and president (1977-1979) of the European Association for Software and Information Transfer, (EASIT).Dr. Gaggero was Visiting Scientist with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Waterways Experiment Station (1980), where he researched problem oriented languages and parallel processing.From 1983 to 1987, Dr. Gaggero had management responsibility with Schlumberger Ltd. for the hardware and software evolution of the company's well logging system. He also designed the well log data recording and exchange standard later adopted by the American Petroleum Institute, (API), as the oil industry standard (RP-66). He served as member of the API Committee on Log Data Recording Standards, (1985-1993). From 1987 to 1998, Dr. Gaggero was president and owner of Data Strategies International, Inc., (DSI). During these eleven years, he won DSI a place at the forefront of the data storage technology, by establishing effective forms of cooperation with the major storage device manufactures as well as by developing innovative products to meet the requirements of sophisticated users.From 2000 to 2003, Dr. Gaggero was SVP of Media Technologies with FPD, Inc. He was the architect of all the processes and software tools used to provide report migration, check migration, and medical data migration services. Dr. Gaggero is currently the CEO of Data Strategies Int'l Inc. and President of Data Strategies International Europe s.r.l.
