Giorgio Albieri

Giorgio is a Computational Structural Engineer with 7+ years of experience in FE modelling, structural analysis and design of both concrete and steel structures, especially tall buildings, as well as parametric modelling and computational design for complex structures. He is particularly focused on developing algorithms for modelling and design purposes, programming in-house applications to automate design and modelling software packages and effective use of BIM software. Giorgio has worked on the design of several signature projects such as the Jeddah Institute of Making (Jeddah, KSA), the new museum of arab art from Heatherwick Studio, 103 Colmore Row (Birmingham, UK), the tallest office building in the UK outside London, the new Google "Landscraper" Headquarters (King's Cross, London), the Luxury Residential Towers Development "The Corniche" (Albert Embankment, London), Aykon Tower (Vauxhall, London) and Gansevoort Hotel (Shoreditch, London). He has achieved the title of Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and the title of Master of Science in Structural Engineering at Politecnico di Milano (Milan, Italy) with a Master Thesis on optimized design of damping systems for tall and super tall buildings. Committed to develop further his computational and digital skills, Giorgio has completed a Postgraduate course in “Parametric Design with Visual Programming in BIM” in 2022 and is currently a candidate to a BSc in Computer Science.
