Giulia Matteoni

Giulia is a Senior Environmental Consultant in Arup’s Climate & Sustainability Portfolio, with nine years of experience in the management and delivery of wind and environmental consulting work for major development projects across the UK and internationally. Giulia manages and coordinates Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), where she interfaces multi-disciplinary teams and is highly enthusiastic about identifying solutions that address client priorities and contribute meaningfully towards sustainable development. She combines technical expertise on wind engineering studies for tall buildings and masterplans with project management skills. She is accomplished in planning and organisation of wind tunnel testing and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) studies aimed at evaluation of pedestrian wind comfort and safety, and has led preparation of numerous technical chapters for planning applications including Environmental Impact Assessments. She also advises planning authorities on the suitability of submissions for planning approval. Prior to joining Arup, Giulia obtained an industrial PhD degree from the Technical University of Denmark; her final thesis focused on the investigation of the aerodynamic stability of bridge stay cables under various climatic conditions.
