After 33 years of service as an officer in the Royal Navy I worked for Combat Stress, the veterans' and reservists' mental health charity, for six years as their Reserve Forces Liaison Officer across Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England and then for three years with Poppyscotland as Unforgotten Forces Project Coordinator supporting Scotland's older veterans. I am also a qualified and experienced self employed instructor for the Mental Health First Aid for the Armed Forces Community course.
