I have worked at Belk Department Store for numerous years in different capacities. I started working in the Customer Services Department as a Gift Wrapper. This experience gave me insights on how to relate to people and solving customer's complaints, as well as wrapping customer's gifts for different occasions. Later I transferred to working as an Operation Team Associate which entails in the preparation of the store before opening. The duties includes preparing the store's merchandise for displaying by tagging them for security purpose in the various departments. This involves speed, accuracy and most important teamwork because merchandise must be displayed before the store open. Operation Team Associates are also responsible for marked downs, setting sales price, returning merchandise to the vendors and marking merchandise out of stock. Sometimes I may have to provide customer services when a Sales Associates aren't available. Before working at Belk, I worked in the hospitality industry as a Desk clerk and Assistant General Manager. As an Assistant General Manager, I handled customer inquiries , making sure that the hotel was running in an efficient manner in the absence of the General Manager. I attained my BA degree in Educational Studies at Belmont Abbey College. This degree will help me fulfill my lifelong dream of working with exceptional children. Volunteering has played a part in my life where I served as a tutor and proctor in my community.
