Godfrey Seleman

Mr. Godfrey is a Value Chains and market system expert with experience in agriculture production, market analysis, agribusiness and entrepreneurship, value chain analysis, market linkages, stakeholder engagement and management, enterprise (MSMEs) development, gender mainstreaming, group dynamics analysis, VSLA, youth, and women empowerment, advocacy, and lobbying, leadership, management, Project Management, planning, budgeting, access to finance and practical experience in facilitation of market system development “inclusive market” (M4P) approach monitoring and Evaluation. Besides, Godfrey has in-depth skills in climate-smart agriculture, conservation agriculture, agroforestry, and biodiversity. He has worked with the International Executive Service Corps as a Value Chains Expert for Poultry, Dairy, Pyrethrum, avocado, and Salt under Enabling Growth through Investment and Enterprise (ENGINE) funded by USAID. Before joining IESC, Godfrey worked with Aga Khan Foundation East Africa as a Project Coordinator under the Food Value Chains Development Project( Horticulture, Poultry, and Pulses) financed by UKAid, GIZ, and Norad. Also, Godfrey worked in Rice Value Chain and inclusive market Sunflower Development under the consortium of SNV/WOPATA/MIICO/VVT/MSTCDC and SNV/ WOPATA Partnership respectively as Technical Program Officer and Market System Facilitator (Team Leader). Moreover, Godfrey worked at Dodore Kenya Ltd /Agri-wallet (Fintech) as a Project Manager in Tanzania before closing the project titled Transforming Poultry Subsector into Profitable, commercial and Market-oriented in Tanzania following financial constraints resulting from the impact of COVID-19. Currently, He is leading and managing the implementation of the Value Chains Development Projects at Hand in Hand Eastern Africa Tanzania. Godfrey possesses a B.Sc in Agronomy and an M.A Monitoring and Evaluation from the Sokoine University of Agriculture, and the Open University of Tanzania respectively, and a Master of Science in International Trade Policy and Trade Law, at Lund University. Also, Godfrey holds a Certificate in Strategic Management from the European Business University, Luxembourg, and He is a certified Value Chain Analyst from the International Training Center of the International Labour Organization (ITCILO). .
