As a Director of Education and Training, Medical Educator, and General Practice Medical professional, my more than 38 years of experience in the medical industry spans Australia and New Zealand. Currently, as the Director of Education and Training with GPTQ, I oversee all aspects of the training and development of doctors in the areas of General Practice. I have played a role in innovation and quality improvements within the organisation, written education programs, facilitated group and supervisor education and training, developed and written training policies and procedures, and developed organisation programs including training internal and external educators. I have played a key role in the development of an education training team that is nationally recognised as the best in the country. My commitment to the training development of General Practice both nationally and internationally has been further supported by: - Establishing and maintaining a rural General Practice for 27 years. - Educating the next generation of medical professionals as a Senior Lecturer at the University of QLD. - Developing and delivering medical education as a Senior Medical Educator at the Contentive Institute across all specialties and disciplines resulting in a broad base understanding of the health system. - Influencing general practice at a regional and state level as a member of the Board of the division of General Practice in Toowoomba and the QLD Division of General Practice. - Charing expert advisory groups of the National Prescribing Service (NPS). - Volunteering with international organisations to provide health care and healthcare training. I still work actively in General Practice with a focus on refugee and asylum care. I am currently on the board of a social enterprise, the World Wellness Group providing cross-cultural support that includes refugee and asylum health with a focus on bringing equity to healthcare. Committed to ongoing development I hold a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Masters of Family Medicine, am a fellow of the RACGP, and hold a Diploma of Obstetrics.
