Electrical Fitter/Mechanic Trade Qualified with 31 years of sea-going experience as Electrical Engineer/Electro-Technical Officer & Watchkeeper Engineer on various vessel types (slow & medium speed motor & steam plant) including reefer container, bulk carrier, RO-RO passenger & cruise liners. ■ Dual Cert: Electro-Tech Officer and Marine Engineer Experience in: • Computer program systems for planned maintenance & spare gear purchasing/storage. • Dry-docking/refits, including specification & report writing. • Being in charge of new equipment installation projects, including the planning, design, testing & commissioning. • Compliance demonstration of equipment for Class & Port State surveys. • Maintenance, calibration & troubleshooting in numerous control, instrumentation & automation systems: CPP propulsion & thrusters, VSD's, steering, main engine, generator load-sharing/control (AVR & governor), steam or thermal oil plants, HVAC/R, lifts & hydraulic systems. PID control. • Switchboard circuit breaker maintenance, overhaul & repair on high voltage networks up to 10kV with 100MW capacity & SCR controlled propulsion motors up to 44MW. • Alarm/monitoring, control & UPS's for main & auxiliary machinery. • Repair, maintenance & testing of navigation equipment, fire detection/suppression, CCTV, PA/GA & entertainment systems. Hotel, galley & accommodation equipment. • PLC's including Siemens, Schneider, ABB, Idec - commissioning & troubleshooting. • Electrical/electronic schematics, hydraulic & pneumatic drawings (including formulation & drafting of new). • Computer systems setup, networking & troubleshooting, program application development (programing). Engineroom watch & UMS experience (Watchkeeper Motor - Unlimited). Operation, maintenance & repair of main engines (slow & medium speed), generator engines, boilers & all ship auxiliary equipment.
