I have spent almost 25 years working for Australian private industry and in the state and national civil sectors. During this time I have served on a wide range of boards and councils and dealt at the highest levels with subject matter ranging from taxation reform and climate change to e-commerce in the mining industry, health reform and national defense policy. In the last three years I have taken on responsibility for the Tasmanian State Service, run the Tasmanian Health and Human Services Department for 3 months, negotiated a $275 million dollar forest agreement for the State Government, overseen preparation of the previous Tasmanian Government's White Paper on engagement in the Asian century, and coordinated a visit to Tasmania by the President of China.
