I am retired with over 23 years with the NYPD. I was a Sergeant/Detective Sergeant for 17 years. I am experienced in patrol functions, proactive street crime work, firearms trafficking, and auto related crime both street level and involving the theft and shipping of cars overseas. I have supervised street level proactive enforcement teams and long term investigative teams handling cases involving firearms and stolen vehicles purchased by undercover Detectives. I retired as a supervisor in the Detective Bureau, Gun Violence Suppression Division, Firearms Suppression Section. I lead a team of experienced investigators and undercover Detectives conducting gun buys as part of long term firearm trafficking cases. I worked closely with the District Attorney's Offices throughout the City of NY and assistants with the Eastern and Southern Districts of NY. Our cases involved interstate trafficking of illegal firearms, Title III wire taps, and multiagency cooperation. I formulated and oversaw extensive planning both for the overall success of the case and most importantly the safety of the undercover and field teams. I am also retired from Rockland Paramedic Services, Rockland County NY. A progressive EMS agency covering a population of more than 330,000 with 7 fly car Paramedic response vehicles. My agency has been a leader and innovator over the course of my 27 year career. Pioneering 12 lead EKG usage and transmission, advanced airway techniques, and speciality cardiac and stroke care training, treatments and notifications. Also, through close relationships with the local volunteer agencies and medical directors at our two local hospitals, Rockland Paramedics has developed the most comprehensive and thorough continuing medical education standards and training in the state. Overall, I have 27 years as a paramedic with experience working in the Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and Rockland counties. During my Police career I was an active part-time employee with Rockland Paramedics and other agencies, performing at a minimum 12hrs a week, and kept current with all certifications, training, and practical applications.
