Gregg Smith

As the Associate Director for North American Sales at Lonza Bioscience, I manage a team of Business Development Managers that serve key Cell & Gene Therapy accounts to provide end-to-end solutions, from early discovery to therapy commercialization. Working with Lonza over the past 14+ years in various roles has given me the breadth of knowledge to become an asset to customers and internal colleagues within Lonza. After being a technical sales specialist with both Bio-Rad Labs and Lonza since 2002, I transitioned into the role of sales manager in 2017, where I led the East region to above market growth for 3 years. Now, I am using my strategic account management experience and my scientific background to partner with my CGT customers to find solutions to scientific problems, and to ultimately achieve Lonza’s goal of improving the lives of patients. Improving people’s lives is something I have become very passionate in and am proud of the work I had accomplished with my customers in the early days of the CRIPSR revolution while being the specialist for Lonza’s Nucleofector Technology. It is inspiring seeing the many therapies being developed using the platform, as well as Lonza’s other products each day. I look forward to continuing to contribute to this mission by working closely with my CGT accounts to get their therapies to the market quickly and reliably.
