About
Gregg Braunton serves as Catholic Health Initiatives' National Director, Threat Management, Incident Response &a; Forensics. He started his career buying a Commodore 64 in 8th grade. Earning a degree in computer science from the United States Military Academy, West Point, Gregg served 5 years active duty in the US Army as a signal officer. Following active duty he retired from the Reserves in May 2017 having served an additional 19 years in the Army Reserves where he held various leadership roles, most notable leading a Cyber Protection Team and training new soldiers in the cyber security discipline. After departing from active duty service, Gregg held various positions in the technology and healthcare fields. Gregg has worked in healthcare exclusively since 2000 holding a number of technical support and leadership positions primarily in Information Technology teams. Beginning in 2003 he began specializing in security today is a proud information security practitioner. In his National Director role he manages internal/external vulnerability assessments, pen testing and web application security assessments. He leads the organization’s CSIRT team, provides cyber hygiene governance leveraging CIS critical security controls, and supports all digital forensic and eDiscovery for both internal and external legal teams. Gregg has extensive civilian and military training and possesses both technical and management certifications in the information security disciplines; CISSP, GCFA, CHFI, CEH, GIACGSEC (Gold), DoD Computer Network Defense Course (CNDC), MCP, Carnegie Mellon Incident Response Handling, Carnegie Mellon Information Assurance for Technical Staff, CISSM, DoD 8570 CertifiedCompliant IA Tech III Mgmt III. He currently works full time with a small LLC serving families and businesses advocating and educating on how to be CyberVigilent.com.
