Guido Calcagno

Senior project officer at the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) with a well balanced managerial, business and technical background developed over 25 years in international research and industrial environments, and regulatory institutions, working in Portugal, Belgium, Germany and Italy for leading naval, aerospace, renewable energy, transport research, industrial companies and public administrations. Currently Guido is EMSA project leader for Statistics, Analysis and Research, and head of sector for horizontal and cost-effectiveness analysis, in the Unit Capacity Building. Prior to working with the EMSA and the European Commission, Guido was research engineer in a top notch naval hydrodynamic reserch centre (CNR-INSEAN, INM), combining a sound and highly sophisticated background in the scientific field with a profound knowledge of the business aspects of technological innovation in its numerous forms. Guido holds an University degree in Aerospace Engineering and a Ph.D. In Naval Engineering complemented by a Master in Business Administration. Guido speaks fluent English, Portuguese, French and Italian.
