Gurvin Chopra

Law graduate from the University of Bristol, with a 2:1 grade Alongside my degree I am a student advisor at the University of Bristol’s Law Clinic, whereby I take on pro-bono cases. Currently I am working on a property case concerning renter’s rights. During my summers at University I have interned at the 3DCentre, which is run by Clive Stafford Smith. During my two summers of interning I was able to work on a myriad of human rights cases concerning Guantanamo Bay, Shaken Baby Syndrome, and the death penalty, as such I was able to become familiar with the American legal system. As well as this I had the privilege of working alongside Clive and a group of amazing individuals. This internship has given me a lot of confidence in my legal knowledge and ability to learn and research in a limited time frame. This summer I am planning on going to Texas to continue working on death penalty cases. I am also the founder and president of University of Bristol’s Taylor Swift Society, which is a social and inclusive society with over 200 members. This society is one of my highlight of my University career created with the goal of appreciating Taylor Swift’s music, whilst being inclusive by having a mix of alcohol and non- alcoholic events, and ensuring that no event costs more than £15.This year I have been part of the Inspire Law Global Programme that mentors and trains students aiming to enter a legal career.
