Hélder Barbosa, PhD, MBA. I am a sales executive with more than 15-years of senior leadership experience with excellent financial results in driving sales and operations in clinical IVD & Research markets. I am working in more than 20 European and African countries at the moment, focused on NGS sequencers, laboratory automation systems, extraction reagents and software tools. As a Strategy Consultant, I have been advising market-leading organizations, such as Tecan, global leader in liquid handling laboratory automation, or multi-million-dollar revenue clinical diagnostic service providers. I hold PhD and Post-doc in the field of Gene Therapy/DNA vaccines downstream processing & in Stem Cells 3D Microarrays Bioengineering. During my professional experience, I have received several awards, including being elected the most innovative & talented person in the Bioengineering field by the European Society of Biochemical Engineering Sciences. Currently, I am managing cross-functional teams of +10 FTEs on sales and sales support. At MGI, I grew the business from zero revenues to a high double-digit Million EUR in just two years. Fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish. Lived & worked in USA, UK, Netherlands, Portugal and Spain.
