H. Jay Enck CxAP, HBDP, BEAP, LEED Fellow

H. Jay Enck is Co-Founder and Chief Technical Officer of Commissioning and Green Building Solutions, Inc. (CxGBS®). An industry leader having conducted commissioning for more than $4 billion in construction projects, Enck has 40-years of experience in building operation, design and construction. Mr. Enck has advocated for the importance of quality construction and commissioning in delivering and sustaining high-performance buildings for their useful operating life.He has presented at over 70 conferences on numerous topics including sustainable design in green building, commissioning and measurement and verification. Enck has authored or co-authored more than 40 articles, technical essays and papers, along with 10+ books or chapters. Selected published works include, co-authoring ASHRAE's Green Guide, Advanced Energy Design guides, and IFMA's Sustainability How-To Guide Commissioning for Existing Buildings. He is subject matter expert quoted in articles on green design, commissioning, and eco-structures in the ASHRAE Journal, Green Building News, Consulting Specific Engineer magazine, and Engineered Systems among others.Mr. Enck served on the USGBC Sustainable Sites technical advisory group (TAG) from 1999 through 2009 and Energy and Atmosphere TAG from 2005 to 2010 reviewing credit interpretation requests, modifications to the LEED rating systems and served as the credit ‘guardian’ for each of the Sustainable Sites credits; and helped develop policy for combined heat and power, optimized energy performance, measurement and verification, commissioning, etc. Enck co-authored the commissioning requirements for LEED 2012 and LEED 2.1 and 2.2 exams. Enck serves on several committees including ASHRAE High Performance Building Design Professional, Commissioning Management Professional, Energy Assessor Professional Certifications, and is a voting member of BSR/ASHRAE Standard 202P committee developing “The Commissioning Process for Buildings and Systems”.
