Hala Abayazid is a highly experienced professional with over 22 years of work experience in the water science sector. She has worked as an executive engineer and site supervisor for hydraulic infrastructure projects, providing consultation for regional/international organizations, and publishing book chapters. Currently, she is a professor of HydroInformatics at the Egyptian Water Research Center, Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation. Hala is passionate about the Blue Gold and has been involved in various research projects, including water resource management, climate change impact, and gender mainstreaming in adaptation for Africa. She has also participated in professional visits and interactive forums in various countries.

About
After graduation, Hala worked as an executive engineer & site supervisor for hydraulic infrastructure projects. Driven by her passion to the Blue Gold, she pursued post-grad studies in England, Canada, Cairo, and further in the Netherlands. Working for more than 25 years in the water science sector, Prof. Hala has been providing consultation for regional/international organizations, contributing as a member of taskforce in applied projects and case studies, and publishing book chapters, technical papers and reports. Currently, Hala Abayazid is a professor of HydroInformatics in the Egyptian Water Research Center, Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation. She participates in applied research projects that tackle water resources management; comparative analysis of watershed /water quality modeling, coastal wetland restoration challenges, climate change impact: vulnerability versus resilience capacity, Ecohydrology interdisciplinary approach, as well as applications of hydro-information science for water resources sustainability. Convinced with the importance of continual tuning of the track, as challenges and concerns reshape, Hala has been seeking experience exchange in wider circle. She has participated in professional visits and interactive multi-national forums in various countries; e.g. France, Japan, Sweden, USA, China, Kenya, Jordan…etc, addressing climate change concerns; Green Low-Carbon Development , Mitigation and Adaptation for Middle East North Africa (MENA) Region , Gender Mainstreaming in Adaptation for Africa, Ecohydrology for River Basin Management under Climate Change, and Integrated Water Resources and Environmental Management for Asian and African Mega Deltas.
