Haley Roedder

After two years in the television news industry and an award-winning journalist, Haley is making an exciting change and returning to a field that drives her passion. She started at The University of Alabama in July of 2023 as a Transfer Recruiter, serving in-state transfer students in North Alabama, including Huntsville, Decatur, Florence, and Gadsden. She is excited to be a part of the Alabama family and show students what opportunities the Capstone can offer them as they build their futures. Haley is a 2021 graduate of Western Kentucky University with a BA in Broadcasting (Concentration: News and Sports Reporting) and a minor in Sociology. In college, Haley was a reporter and anchor for WKU's News Channel 12 and Extra Point shows. She has always had a passion for serving others and worked as a tour guide for WKU for 3.5 years and a Spirit Master for 2 years. Haley also served her sorority in college for 3 years in various leadership roles, including Chapter President. In her free time, Haley serves as a mental health advocate with her platform she created in 2015 called Mental Health Matters- working with various organizations to promote resources to those in need and encouraging others to share their stories. In February of 2022, Haley publicized her struggles with anorexia through her social media platforms, reaching people from all across the country. After seeing how that post helped so many others, she continues to frequently share statistics and reminders, showing others the importance of prioritizing themselves and loved ones.
