I am, at heart, a storyteller. Whether I'm producing a commercial, developing a tagline for a print campaign, managing a client's social media platform, or even performing on stage, I know the best way to connect people to any message, theme, or brand is to treat Story as King. Story is the common denominator – in art, advertising, and all other forms of media. It's the thing that has kept artists connected to their audiences and consumers interested in products for as long as art and advertising have been around. The most interesting part of storytelling, for me, is finding the juxtaposition that lies just under the surface of any obvious narrative. The humor in tragedy. The personal in the universal. The hope that lies within any seemingly impossible situation. This is where I build from as a writer, producer, and advertiser, never allowing spectacle or modern trends to steal the show (though sometimes those things are fun to play with, too).
