Han Chen, CFA

Han Chen is the Chief Executive Officer of ZeaKal Inc., a San Diego based plant science company focused on increasing the photosynthetic capacity of the world’s major row crops. He has been an executive, entrepreneur and venture financier of early stage startups in the agbiotech industry. Han Chen was the founder and Managing Director of Kapyon Ventures, a San Diego based agbiotech incubation firm commercializing technologies from several global research organizations and universities. Kapyon has worked with several notable groups including AgResearch Ltd, Mississippi State University and the University of Missouri. Prior to founding ZeaKal, Han Chen was also the Investment Manager for Finistere Partners, LLC an early stage life science venture fund. He has served on several biotech boards and has helped develop agricultural biotech strategies for large multinationals looking to enter and invest in the space. Han Chen graduated Magna Cum Laude from Amherst College and has a master’s degree in international business management from the University of California, San Diego. He is also a CFA charterholder.
