Hannah Roberts

Raised in Zimbabwe, I saw first-hand the injustices of a corrupt economic and political system and how poverty can cripple the potential of people. I have seen too many times well-meaning companies deliver aid, create dependency, and then leave the community in worse shape than when they arrived to “help”. There is no lasting plan. There is no strategy for the sustainable empowerment and advancement of the community. The world is overflowing with people equipped with immense potential, yet many are never given the opportunity to use it due to their restricted circumstances such as lack of education and resources. I am passionate about speaking up for the marginalized, sidelined, and forgotten. I want to provide opportunities to allow people to discover that they are wildly capable of anything they put their mind to, despite trying circumstances. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication as I believe that the experience and skills I am learning will set me on a path towards achieving my dreams and truly making a sustainable difference.
