Harshal Shukla, PharmD, B.

Dr. Harshal Shukla is a Clinical Pharmacy Manager for Surgical Services and Anesthesiology at the Montefiore Medical Center located in the Bronx, NY. Dr. Shukla is the Residency Coordinator for the Montefiore PGY-1 pharmacy program. He is also Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. In his current role he manages the overall clinical and operational perioperative pharmacy services. He is responsible for reviewing perioperative medication utilization trends, drug information questions and assists in cost saving initiatives of surgery and anesthesia-related medications.He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree (cum laude) from the Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy at Long Island University. Dr. Shukla completed his PGY-1 residency at the Montefiore Medical Center (MMC). He currently is a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist. In 2020, he successfully completed the ASHP Pharmacy Leadership Academy. Dr. Shukla is a preceptor for both pharmacy students and PGY-1 residents at MMC. He served as the first co-chair of the NYCSHP New Practitioners Committee. In 2017, he was the recipient of the NYCSHP New Practitioner Achievement Award. He served nationally on the ASHP New Practitioner Forum Membership and Outreach and Clinical Leadership Advisory groups. He currently serves on the ASHP Section of Inpatient Care Practitioners Educational Steering Committee. Dr. Shukla has been an active member of NYSCHP, previously serving as a delegate, member of both the New Practitioners and Support Personnel Committees. He currently serves as the Chair of Communications for the NYSCHP. Dr. Shukla has served the NYC chapter as Director-at-Large, President-Elect, President and is currently the Immediate Past-President. In 2021, Dr. Shukla was elected as Director of Advocacy for the NYSCHP. The position will be begin in April 2022.
