I am a passionate entrepreneur for sustainability who truly believes that there is no finite world with infinite material consumption. We can reverse the adverse effect of climate change only through our consumption. As an engineer-turned-fashion technologist, things changed when I realized that the fashion industry wasn’t as “fashionable and glamorous” as I assumed it to be. Extensive working hours, heaps of canceled shipments, negligible fair trade, unethical ways of consumption, and alarming wastage - it was toxic. It reminds me of an incident at one of my older internships - Heaps of product sample waste, rejected consignments by vendors, and flea-market sellers. This has apparently always been an issue with fast-fashion retailers. Only, we never know about it. And that gave birth to Upcycleluxe- India's first zero-waste & sustainable fashion marketplace that calculates environmental impact with “plastic-free being the norm” and “zero-waste a lifestyle.” In my professional career, I have worked specifically towards driving Fashion Businesses enabled by Technology. I have 5+ years of experience in Digitalisation, Business Strategy, Marketing, Automation, Technology Integration. Personally, I'm always on the lookout for understanding consumer buying behavior along with technology-driven enhancements that include science-based sustainable target solutions. Sustainable & functional design, circular economy, and zero waste living are a few of the passionate interests that I mostly search for and gain knowledge on an everyday basis.
